FOOD INSECURITY IS AT AN ALL-TIME HIGH
Tell your MP: Canada needs better income policies to reduce poverty and food insecurity!
Every day across the country, nearly 1 in 4 people can't afford nourishing food.
This means 8.7 million people worry about running out of food, compromise on the quality and quantity of their groceries, or even go without meals.
The evidence is clear: the problem is poverty. A lack of income (not a lack of food) is the root cause of food insecurity. In a country that has committed to respect, protect, and fulfill the right to food, and is as rich as ours, it is totally unacceptable that so many people struggle to eat. Canada must do better.
But there’s good news: We know that better income policies will reduce poverty and food insecurity. And with food insecurity on the rise, we don’t have a moment to waste.
So join us, and nearly 400 community food organizations from coast to coast to coast, in calling on the federal government to reduce poverty and food insecurity.
